CalFresh (formerly FoodStamps) helps low-income individuals/household in purchasing nutritious foodat approved grocery stores, farmers market and other retailers. Alcoholicbeverages, cigarettes, pet food, vitamins, medicines, paper products, and othernon-food products cannot be purchased.
CalFresh benefits areissued on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card which looks just like acredit card. The amount of benefits depends on household size, income, monthlyexpenses, and other items.

You can purchase food items online at Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Amazon, and Walmart using yourEBT card.
