Deer Lodge Field Office Details

The mission of the Human and Community Services Division of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the necessary assistance to help families and individuals meet basic needs and escape poverty.

The division provides cash assistance, employment training, additional nutritional assistance former meal vouchers, Medicaid, childcare, meal reimbursement, nutritional training, energy assistance, meteorological assistance and other services to help families lift themselves out of poverty and support themselves.

The programme provides for monthly payments to poor families and children who meet income and resource requirements.
The Work Readiness Component provides employment and training services for people receiving financial support.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP, formerly the Food Stamp Program provides benefits to eligible families to supplement their food budget and increase their ability to buy healthy food.
SNAP Nutrition Education, run in conjunction with Montana State University, teaches participants how to use food stamps wisely.
