Anaconda Field Office Details

The mission of the Human and Community Services Division of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the necessary assistance to help families and individuals meet their basic needs and lift themselves out of poverty.

The division provides cash assistance, employment training, supplementary nutrition assistance, Medicaid, child care, meal reimbursement, nutrition training, energy assistance, air conditioning and other services to help families move out of poverty and become self-sufficient.

The cash assistance is funded by a federal block grant called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
Direct Payments to Low-Income Families and Low-Income Seniors
The Work-ready Component provides employment and training services for those receiving financial assistance.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides benefits for eligible families to supplement their food budgets and increase their ability to purchase healthy food.
A SNAP Nutrition Education Program, run jointly with Montana State University, teaches participants how to use the benefits of food stamps wisely.
