    FAP is the state's food assistance program that provides benefits to legal immigrants who are not eligible for the Federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called Basic Foods in Washington, just because of immigration status.
    Households that include a person who is eligible for FAP will receive half of the food benefit paid to this person if they are eligible for SNAP.
    Households can receive both FAP and SNAP benefits, depending on each person's citizenship or foreign status in the home.
