SNAP Services Linn County Details

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is a federally funded program that provides nutritional assistance to millions of eligible low-income individuals and families.
The intention of the SNAP is to help improve the health and well-being of households and people on low incomes by providing them with the means to meet their nutritional needs.
They are not designed to meet all nutritional needs of a household or an individual.
People don't have to be destitute to qualify for SNAP benefits.
In Oregon, the SNAP program is administered by the Department of Human Services.
Determination of suitability and issuance of benefits are provided through DHS and AAA offices throughout the state.

The benefits are distributed through the state's Electronic Benefit Transfer system, which allows people to access their benefits using an "Oregon Trail Card" at the grocery store machines.
