Douglas County DHHS Office Details

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) assists low-income individuals to purchase nutritious food in authorized grocery stores and other establishments. Alcoholic beverages, pet food, tobacco, paper products or other non-food items cannot be purchased with the SNAP benefit. Individuals must apply to the SNAP benefit and provide income, expenses and resources in order to be approved according to SNAP guidelines.


Note:

The SNAP benefit is sent directly to approved recipients via mail through an EBT card.

Households that meet the program guidelines for income and resources receive SNAP benefits free of charge.
