    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) assists low-income individuals and/or families in purchasing nutritious food. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, pet food, paper products, and other non-food items cannot be purchased. The amount of the SNAP benefits varies depending on household size, income, monthly expenses, and other criteria.

    The SNAP benefit amount is put in to an EBT card, which works just like a debit card. Approved recipients will receive their EBT card via U.S mail. EBT cards are accepted by authorized grocery stores and other retailers.
