Cuming County Local DHHS Office Details

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, helps raise the nutritional level of low income individuals and/or households by helping them purchase food. Alcoholic beverages, pet food, tobacco, paper products, and other non-food products cannot be purchased using the SNAP benefit. Amount of approved SNAP benefits varies depending on household size, income, expenses, and other criteria.

The benefit amount is given directly to approved recipients through an EBT card, which works just like a debit card. EBT cards are accepted by authorized supermarkets, grocery stores, and other retailers.
