Missoula Field Office Details

The mission of the Human and Community Services Department of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the assistance necessary to help families and individuals to meet basic needs and get out of poverty.

The branch provides cash aid, employment training, additional food aid, Medicaid, childcare, meal reimbursement, food training, energy, meteorological and other services to help families get out of poverty and move to self-sufficiency.

The cash assistance is financed by a block grant from the federal government called Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

The work readiness component provides employment and training services to individuals receiving cash assistance.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides benefits to eligible families to supplement their food budget and increase their ability to purchase healthy food.
A SNAP Nutrition Education, operated in conjunction with Montana State University, teaches participants how to use their food assistance benefits wisely.

Dear sir it madam, I was just sending a message to get some answers to questions I had before submitting an online application. I was wondering what the gross and net income limits were in reference to, as well as what all would be included for incomes. Another question I have is about deductions and how those work and what counts for a deduction and what the amounts would be? Regards Billy Flynn
