SNAP Benefits OverviewThe ProgramThe Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program/SNAP is a nutrition program for families and individuals who meet certain income and resource guidelines.
Snap benefits help you buy nutritious food for your family.
You can work, but you are still eligible for SNAP benefits.
If you qualify for SNAP benefits you can use these benefits to purchase food in most grocery stores, grocery stores and pharmacies.

SNAP benefits are claimed with an Electronic Benefit Transfer Card. These cards are used in the same way you would use a debit card or ATM.
The benefits of SNAP can be used to buy any food other than alcohol, pet food or heated products. 
Populations serve families and individuals who meet certain income and resource policies.

Application procedure To apply for SNAP benefits, you can submit an application:
Go to the Department of Transitional Assistance that serves your city or municipality.
