Lame Deer Field Office Details

The mission of the Human and Community Services Division of the Department of Public Health and Human Services of Montana is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the assistance needed to help families and individuals meet basic needs and lift themselves out of poverty.

The division provides cash assistance, vocational training, additional nutritional assistance, Medicaid, child care, meal reimbursement, nutritional training, energy assistance, weathering and other services to help families lift themselves out of poverty and turn to self-help.
The program provides monthly payments to low-income families and children who meet income and resource eligibility standards.
The Work-ready Component provides employment and training services for those receiving financial assistance.

The Supplementary Assistance in Nutrition Program provides benefits to eligible families to supplement their food budget and increase their ability to purchase healthy food.
SNAP Nutrition Education, held in conjunction with Montana State University, teaches participants how to use food stamp benefits wisely.
