After the application is filed, a case worker might contact the individual applying for SNAP benefits if additional information is required. Please note that a decision cannot be made until all the required information is provided. Once it is determined that the applicant is eligible for SNAP benefits, an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, referred to as the Louisiana Purchase Card will be sent via mail to the address provided in the application. It will also include instructions on how to activate the card and choose a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

The amount of benefit provided is based on income, resources and the number of individuals in the household. SNAP benefits are issued monthly on the Louisiana Purchase Card. This card can be used just like a debit card at authorized grocery stores and food retailers.

I need help communicating with someone who can help with SNAP. I just signed up and received one deposit on my EBT card in January; however, did not get anything on 2/10. It is now March 2nd, and have no credit on the card. I've been trying to contact anyone, but apparently the system's down and my profile cannot be opened. Also having trouble just speaking to someone about this, very frustrating. Can anyone help?

I had made a application for food stamp benefits about 2 weeks ago. I tried to go on the official site to change some information and it says I am putting in the wrong social security number. I have been to the site before to check status and I had no problems then. I just wanted to update my income. Yesterday I received my government stimulus check for 1,200.00 and I also got an deposit for 636.00 for unemployment benefits. Unsure if I am still eligible to receive food stamps now. thanks.
