    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as SNAP, is part of a federal nutrition program that helps qualifying low-income households purchase nutritious food. 

    Individuals must apply for the program and provide all the required documentation. Individuals can apply online, via US Mail and through the drop-off boxes located at the office. After the application is filed, the individual must have a telephone interview with a case worker and be prepared to answer questions related to the household situation. 

    The amount of benefit provided is based on income, resources and the number of individuals in the household. SNAP benefits are issued monthly on the Hawaii Electronic Benefit Transfer (Hi/EBT) card. This EBT card can be used just like a debit card at authorized grocery stores and food retailers.

      I am wondering why I haven't received my EBT benefits for the month of September. Do I need to give you more information? I just did my 6 month re-certification.

      I did my recert online and submitted it and I have yet to hear from anyone and now I am sitting here with NO benefits. I understand that due to this pandemic everything is backlogged but I would appreciate at least a phone call/email to let me know the status of recert.

      I called my case worker back yesterday and was on hold for almost 2 hours then the offices were closed.

      Submtitted all my info online and was sent an appointment notice by mail. I called at the correct date and time and was on hold from 9:15-3:10pm. Left callback number and voicemail and got no reply. My letter states that if i miss an appointment my application will be denied. Now im calling the day after and it says i no longer require an appointment at this time and all offices are closed, not open to the public, and to again do everything online. Through this entire process i have not spoken to an actual human, just an automated phone directory. This is very frustrating.
